Soliloquy

Soliloquy - A person's most inner thoughts, they speak them on stage but they're the only ones who can hear it.

"Commends th' ingredience of our poisoned chalice to our own lips. He's here on double trust"

To me this means praise formally the ingredience of our poisoned cup to our own lips. Macbeth is there on double trust. In Macbeth it shows that Macbeth was planning something devious against Duncan and Malcolm like poisoning them. Malcolm and Duncan trust Macbeth but the double trust thing is Malcolm and Duncan trust Macbeth but Macbeth is going to turn around and try to kill them so he can get what he wants and become king.

Dramatic Irony

Macbeth has Dramatic Irony. Dramatic Irony is where the audience knows more about what's happening in the play then the characters. In Act I Malcolm becoming prince is dramatic irony because we know the Macbeth is planning on killing him but he doesn't know. Macbeth and the audience are the only people who know what's going to happen with Duncan and Malcolm.

Imagery

This poem from my point of view is racism. Sounds like she's a slave,
"I am the girl
holding their babies
cooking their meals
sweeping their yards
washing their clothes
Dark and rotting
and wounded, wounded."
She was a young girl slave in the beginning but at the end of the poem she was a grown free woman. When she grew up she got healthier and healed.
Imagery: I can picture her being stuck somewhere, having to do work for everybody else.

patience;
It's simple but really hard for me to be.
Something I need, but don't have
It's one of my challenges in life to conquer.
My goal for 2010 is to get patience.
"Patience is not the ability to wait, but the ability to keep a good attitude while waiting"

along for the ride

I read along for the ride by Sarah Dessen. I thought it was a really good book because some of it was very shocking and some of it was very realistic. Auden decides to spend the summer before she goes off to college with her Dad and Step Mom. She didn't expect to make any friends or expect to fall in love with a guy named Eli. Eli's best friend just passed away and blames himself. Auden's just like her mom so when she's staying at her Dad's she struggles to stop being like her mom. Eli and Auden both come out of their shells as they explore the late night adventures of a small town. I really liked this book because Auden was kind of a daring character. She made this book exciting to read. I could hardly put it down.

cell phone use during school

I think we should be able to use cell phones during school because if we're just walking in the hall's on our way to our classes we're not harming anybody. I don't think people should use them during class unless the teachers okay with it and done with their work. During study hall's people should be able to use their cell phone's, some people hardly do work in their study hall so what else do they have to do? During lunch we should also be able to use them because we're not learning anything, we're sitting there eating lunch. We should be able to use them because what if we need to ask our parent's a quick question but we can't get a hold of them on their work or house phone? We could quickly send them a text message asking them and have them text back instead of waiting and trying to call over and over. It would save a lot of trouble for students and some parents.

after the earthquake hit Haiti

On Tuesday January 19th a 7.0 earthquake hit Haiti. It's very devastating, many people died or we're seriously injured. Some people are still missing. There's some serious damage done to Haiti, It's going to take a while to be able to fix that. People are looking for their husbands, kids and wives, knowing there's a chance they might be under a building. People are sending out money, food, clothes and ect. out to Haiti trying to help people survive. I went to a website to find out more information about Haiti. They don't have power so they can't really do much to help save people.
I think we should send out more EMT's and medicine to help Haiti. I don't know what I would do if this happened where I live. I feel very bad for Haiti. I would be so devastated if I didn't know where my family was. I wish people would send out more money and clothes and food to help them survive.
