Imagery
This poem from my point of view is racism. Sounds like she's a slave,
"I am the girl
holding their babies
cooking their meals
sweeping their yards
washing their clothes
Dark and rotting
and wounded, wounded."
She was a young girl slave in the beginning but at the end of the poem she was a grown free woman. When she grew up she got healthier and healed.
Imagery: I can picture her being stuck somewhere, having to do work for everybody else.

along for the ride
I read along for the ride by Sarah Dessen. I thought it was a really good book because some of it was very shocking and some of it was very realistic. Auden decides to spend the summer before she goes off to college with her Dad and Step Mom. She didn't expect to make any friends or expect to fall in love with a guy named Eli. Eli's best friend just passed away and blames himself. Auden's just like her mom so when she's staying at her Dad's she struggles to stop being like her mom. Eli and Auden both come out of their shells as they explore the late night adventures of a small town. I really liked this book because Auden was kind of a daring character. She made this book exciting to read. I could hardly put it down.
"Relationships don't always make sense. Especially from the outside. "
cell phone use during school
I think we should be able to use cell phones during school because if we're just walking in the hall's on our way to our classes we're not harming anybody. I don't think people should use them during class unless the teachers okay with it and done with their work. During study hall's people should be able to use their cell phone's, some people hardly do work in their study hall so what else do they have to do? During lunch we should also be able to use them because we're not learning anything, we're sitting there eating lunch. We should be able to use them because what if we need to ask our parent's a quick question but we can't get a hold of them on their work or house phone? We could quickly send them a text message asking them and have them text back instead of waiting and trying to call over and over. It would save a lot of trouble for students and some parents.
after the earthquake hit Haiti
On Tuesday January 19th a 7.0 earthquake hit Haiti. It's very devastating, many people died or we're seriously injured. Some people are still missing. There's some serious damage done to Haiti, It's going to take a while to be able to fix that. People are looking for their husbands, kids and wives, knowing there's a chance they might be under a building. People are sending out money, food, clothes and ect. out to Haiti trying to help people survive. I went to a website to find out more information about Haiti. They don't have power so they can't really do much to help save people.
I think we should send out more EMT's and medicine to help Haiti. I don't know what I would do if this happened where I live. I feel very bad for Haiti. I would be so devastated if I didn't know where my family was. I wish people would send out more money and clothes and food to help them survive.
Iprovements
I think that blogging has helped me with my grammar because it makes me more aware that people are reading it and possibly criticizing my blog as to somebody reading over my writing.
With blogging more people read my work and it makes me more aware of my spelling and how I format my paragraph's. I'm learning how to type in actual non-text form. My improvements are I spell most things right when I'm typing something to the blog then as to writing something on a piece of paper and not having a little red squiggly line appear.
My Sisters Keeper.
I read my sister's keeper by Jodi Picoult.
The main character is Anna Fitzgerald.
The book is about how it's up to Anna to save her sister Kate's life. Anna starts to not want to help her sister anymore. Their older brother Jesse grows up to be and gets in a lot of trouble. Sara and Brian Fitzgerald have a lot on their hands. Anna's fighting against her sisters life. This is a very good, suspenseful book. When you're reading this your on the edge of your set. Some parts will make you cry, other parts will make you smile. This is one of the best books I've ever read. I think teenage girls with a sister would like to read this. It brought my sister and I closer together.
"If you have a sister and she dies, do you stop saying you have one? Or are you always a sister, even when the other half of the equation is gone?"
"It's disappointing to know that someone can see right through you."
"Extraordinary things are always hiding in places people never think to look."

Miep Gies
Miep Gies. February 15, 1909 - January 11, 2010 born in Vienna, Austria.
She died when she was 100 but when she was younger she helped a family in need during the holocaust. She hid the Frank family for almost two years. Then on August 4th they got busted and sent to concentration camp. After the Frank family was sent off Miep went to look around in the company's office building where she was hiding the Frank's, she found Anne's diary. She had to wait until somebody from the Frank family came back to give them Anne's diary. Otto was the only one who survived. Miep gave Otto Anne's diary and said "Here is your daughter Anne's legacy to you."
I chose Miep Gies because she was brave and risked her own life to help her friends. I chose the saying "Here is your daughter Anne's legacy to you."because if she didn't find that book nobody would know about Anne Frank's life or anything that went on with her family.

a found poem
I'm so scared.
We lie to ourselves.
My heart is beating like crazy &
We lie to ourselves.
I am having trouble breathing.
We lie to ourselves.
The trouble I'm in keeps looking bigger and bigger
We lie to ourselves.
I'm overwhelmed by it
We lie to ourselves.
It's crushing me
We lie to ourselves.
When the lights went out,
We lie to ourselves.
I think I heard someone crying in the darkness
We lie to ourselves.
Maybe we are here because
we lie to ourselves.
